Archaeological jewel of the world.

Peru's most important symbol.

Because of its extraordinary magnificence and harmonious structure Machupicchu is considered one of the 7 Wonders of the World. It is located 120 km northwest of the city of Cusco, at an altitude of 2.400 meters. The citadel sits atop a hill in the middle of a mountain range. The topography is amazing with steep mountain slopes covered with tropical forests.

Machu Picchu is on the edge of the Amazon jungle, and the rains are latent in all seasons. In the hottest days it is possible to reach about 26 ° C, the coldest early mornings in June and July the temperature can drop to -2 ° C. The average annual temperature is 16 ° C.

The charm of Machupicchu is in their plazas, aqueducts, watchtowers, and observatories. One of the most significant stones is the Intihuatana or Solar Calendar that allowed the Incas to know precisely the seasons and weather throughout the year.
